Guidelines for donated items

Thank you for your interest in supporting the NWA Children’s Shelter through the donation of needed items. Items may be dropped off at either of two locations:

  • NWA Children’s Shelter donation (14100 Vaughn Road in Highfill)

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (every weekday except Wednesday)

  • Samaritan Shop located in Frisco Station Mall (Walnut and Dixieland in Rogers)

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Monday-Saturday

If you are unable to deliver your donation during these times, please call the Children’s Shelter Development Office at 479.795.2417 between 8:30 a.m. and  4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday to make other arrangements. 

Items we accept include:

  • New or gently used clothing, shoes in current styles for: girls from birth - age 17; and boys from birth - age 14
  • Infant items such as formula, diapers, pull-ups and wipes
  • Toiletry and personal-hygiene items
  • New or gently used toys, new electronics and electronic games
  • New, unopened household cleaning supplies, paper products
  • Office supplies and school supplies
  • New or gently used blankets, new twin-size white sheets and pillow cases
  • New, unopened food items

Because the purpose of the Children’s Shelter is to care for children in a residential setting, while complying with state and federal health and safety requirements, there are certain items we cannot use:

Items we CANNOT accept include:

  • Men’s clothing
  • Furniture
  • Used electronics (such as computers and TVs) and kitchen appliances
  • Full, queen or king-sized linens
  • Large items such as exercise equipment, used lawn & garden equipment or building materials
