Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter is very fortunate to have a good number of generous, creative and hard-working supporters who stage their own fun-raising events and activities (a and designate NWA Children’s Shelter as a beneficiary of their activity. Community-minded groups often use such initiatives as outreach and team-building functions and to promote awareness of their products and/or services. We call these Third-party Fund-raisers. These events can take an almost infinite number of forms. A few recent examples include chili cook-offs, rock-a-thons, walks/runs, special-emphasis days, motorcycle rides, festivals, bake sales, craft fairs, etc. All you need is an idea and a group willing to make it work. We do, however, like to know about these initiatives in advance, so we can lend a hand, if needed. We can provide logos for use in promotional materials, help promote the initiative by publishing it to our Facebook, Twitter and website audiences and even supply representatives and/or volunteers to receive the proceeds, take photos and even assist with the event. We also like to recognize groups and their results, via Facebook, as soon as possible after the iniative is over. Below are links to some ideas for Third-party Fund-raisers and some simple guidelines we ask our partners in such ventures to agree to follow. This agreement just helps ensure that people will not use our good name for events that are not conducted in an ethical manner.
